Hi, AriWerd. Welcome to the Cities Wikia! Thank you for starting the article on Grand Junction, Colorado! If you want any assistance, please feel free to ask. Again, welcome! --CocoaZen 22:07, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm so glad you and your classes will be contributing! Feel free to create pages other than the "standard ones" -- local activities of interest to your students, teens, schools, after school activities... scout troups, youth sports leagues, summer camps, music groups, school clubs, etc.. Just add [[Category:Grand Junction, CO|XYZ]] and/or [[Category:Grand Valley|XYZ]], where XYZ is where it should be listed alphabetically on the category page. And add any other categories you think are appropriate. (You may already know this... I haven't looked at the pages you created yet.)
Please make sure your students are aware that they should not use copyrighted materials without permission to release them under GFDL And because of the collaborative nature of the wiki, they should be aware that others may change and build on their work. On the Literature Wikia there are a bunch of students jointly writing an article about To Kill a Mockingbird. There are also wikia on particular computer science topics... everything from operating systems to css. Wikia are also a good place to learn to consider the source (and potential errors). :-)
I'm not sure, but I believe that people under 13 years old are not supposed to post personal (identifying) information without parental permission. You're probably more aware of the relevent rules than I am. Everyone is encouraged to create IDs, but it might be good if kids don't use their real names. And it may be time for a reminder that you should never go to meet anyone physically without taking a trusted adult along. (It's sad to have to worry about such things.)
Again, welcome! and let us know if there are ways others can help you or your students. I hope it will be a fun learning experience!
Oh... your students might want to know that if they use the preview they can check their work before saving it so others don't see (as many of) the mistakes.

- Another idea... would you like a page for the class(es) project? CocoaZen 04:43, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
