Manchester is home to four professional sports teams:

  • Manchester Wolves (af2 arena football) - The Manchester Wolves, founded in 2002, are a professional arena football team, based at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire. They play in the East Division of the American Conference of the af2 league, which is the minor league of the Arena Football League. Coach Ben Bennett returns for his second season of coaching the Wolves in 2006. In 2005, Bennett led the team to a 12-5 record and the East Division championship.
  • New Hampshire Fisher Cats (minor league baseball) - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats are a minor league baseball team based. The team, which plays in the Eastern League, is the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays major-league club.
  • Manchester Monarchs (American Hockey League) L.A. Kings - The Manchester Monarchs are an ice hockey team in the American Hockey League. They play in Manchester, New Hampshire at the Verizon Wireless Arena. The team was founded in 2001.
